The Regional Defense Command of the Donetsk People's Republic announced that seven civilians were killed as a result of the Ukrainian army's shelling of the territory of the Republic during the past day.
The Russia Today website quoted the leadership as saying in a statement today that the Ukrainian bombing resulted in the injury of 24 other people with varying degrees of severity.
It is noteworthy that the Ukrainian forces open fire on a daily basis on the cities and villages of the Donetsk Republic with heavy artillery, mortars and rocket launchers.
On the other hand, a military source in the Luhansk People's Forces said today that units of the Ukrainian army are still stationed at the strategic Ugligorskaya hydroelectric station in Donbass.
The source stressed the importance of this site because its liberation would allow the continuation of the offensive and tighten the siege on the Ukrainian forces in the direction of Artyomovsk.
He explained that this is an important strategic direction, pointing out that the Ukrainian forces are currently controlling the Svetlodar thermal power plant and firing from there on the liberated city of Svetlodarsk.
