Daraa-Sana
The agricultural firefighting teams, the Civil Defense and the Daraa fire brigade put out a large fire that broke out in a field of irrigated wheat with an area of about 70 dunums on the Damascus-Daraa highway in the lands of Khirbet Ghazaleh village.
The Director of Agriculture in Daraa, Engineer Bassam al-Hashish, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the fire consumed the entire field in which it broke out, explaining that the firefighting teams went to the site of the fire immediately after receiving the report, where they participated in putting out about 6 firefighting vehicles and bulldozers that set up barriers to prevent the fire from spreading to the neighboring fields, in addition to a number of from private tanks.
Al-Hashish added: The eastern winds and high temperatures contributed to the rapid spread of the fire, which caused the loss of the entire field, pointing out that this fire is the largest that affects an irrigated wheat field, and the firefighting teams are currently working on cooling it.
