Enormous traffic jams are currently forming on the borders between Tyrol and Bavaria.

Reason are the holiday returnees and the G7 border controls.

In Scharnitz, a waiting time of over an hour must be expected in the direction of Mittenwald.

- The travelers returning from the Pentecost vacation and the border controls regarding the upcoming G7 summit have caused enormous traffic jams on the Tyrolean borders.

In Scharnitz, there were block handling at the Porta Claudia Tunnel and in Gießenbach.

In the direction of Mittenwald, a waiting time of more than an hour had to be coped with, the state police in Tyrol told the daily newspaper.

At temperatures above 30 degrees anything but a pleasant thing.

Sunday is the peak of return travel, the police assure.

In addition, there is currently block handling on the B179 at the Füssen border tunnel (A14).

Drivers currently need patience on the Inntalautobahn (A12) before the Kufstein/Kiefersfelden border crossing and then on the A8 in the direction of Munich.

On the B177 before Scharnitz, the German controls are also causing delays.

According to the ÖAMTC, traffic jams on the Brenner autobahn (A13) and the Brenner road in the direction of Innsbruck.

According to the ÖAMTC, block handling is announced in front of the St. Michael im Lungau toll station on the Tauernautobahn (A10) and the Pfänder tunnel on the Rheintal Autobahn (A14).

The ÖAMTC also reports traffic jams on Saturday afternoon at the border crossings at Walserberg on the Westautobahn (A1) and the Karawanken Tunnel (A11).
