London - SANA- Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin warned Britain that it would be very dangerous to enact a unilateral law

London- Sana

Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin has warned Britain that it would be too risky to unilaterally change part of the Northern Ireland protocol to the Brexit deal aimed at facilitating trade with Northern Ireland.

Reuters quoted Martin as saying today to the BBC: If this new law is enacted, I think we are in a very dangerous situation, indicating that what must happen now is really substantive negotiations between the British government and the European Union.

The European Union announced last Wednesday that it had filed a lawsuit against the United Kingdom for breaching the Northern Ireland Protocol.

The Northern Ireland Protocol is part of the Brexit agreement and stipulates that the province, which is part of the United Kingdom, will continue to follow EU internal market rules and the European Customs Union.
