He did not come out on top after the first round of legislative elections.

And yet, Stanislas Guerini announced his victory this Sunday evening against his competitor from Nupes in the 3rd district of Paris, Léa Balage El Marikyl, ecologist assistant to the mayor of the 18th century.

The Minister of Public Service won 51% of the vote and thus saved his new position in the government.

His deputy, Caroline Yadan, will thus replace him in the National Assembly.

Like all the candidate ministers elected at the end of the second round, Stanislas Guerini will thus be able to keep his place in government, in accordance with the wishes of the executive.

The Prime Minister finally elected in Calvados Élisabeth Borne, was not exempt from this wish of Emmanuel Macron.

A total of 15 ministers were involved.

Among them, Brigitte Bourguignon and Justine Benin, have already been eliminated.

This is not the first time that the former delegate general of the Republic in March rubs shoulders with the ballot boxes of the 3rd district of Paris.

In 2017, he won with 65.50% of the vote against Valérie Nahmias (34.50%).

Five years later, in the first round, he only won 32.5% of the vote against Léa Balage El Marikyl, who took the lead with 38.66%.

Stanislas Guerini, a great faithful Emmanuel Macron, had, like his colleagues in the presidential majority, chosen to focus his campaign between the two rounds on the anti-Nupes.

"I consider that the Mélenchonist coalition is a coalition of the far left", he declared to Le Parisien on the evening of the first round of the presidential election, preferring to advocate "a presidential project which consists in defending the economy of France, of companies, of the French, to defend Europe, a realistic project of ecological transition based on renewable energies and nuclear power.
