Minister Amélie de Montchalin in danger, outgoing deputies Nicolas Dupont-Aignan (DLF) and Cédric Villani (Nupes) in favorab ballot

They were 108 on the starting line, there are only 20 left. This Sunday, the 803,518 Essonne voters are called upon to vote for the second round of the legislative elections, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., in the 194 municipalities of the department.

The ten deputies of Essonne will be elected to pass laws for the next five years.

At the end of the first round, the Nupes (New Popular, Ecological and Social Union) candidates took the lead in eight out of ten constituencies.

The National Rally created the surprise by qualifying in the 2nd constituency.

Nicolas Dupont-Aignan (DLF) is also on track to win a sixth term as a deputy.

Consult the results of the legislative elections in Essonne.

Follow all the results in Évry-Courcouronnes (1st constituency), in Grigny (10th constituency), but also Ris-Orangis (9th constituency) and Massy in the 6th constituency, where the Minister for the Ecological Transition is present (Together!) Amelie de Montchalin.

But with 52.25%, it was mainly abstention that scored points in the first round last Sunday.

The number of voters not voting is only increasing: five years ago, the level had already reached a record 50.5%, against 42.7% in 2012.

Farida Amrani favorite in the 1st district (Évry-Corbeil)

Bondoufle, June 16, 2022. In the 1st constituency of Essonne, Farida Amrani (Nupes) and Medhy Zeghouf (Together) are the candidates.

Farida Amrani (LFI) took off in the first round, prancing in the lead by nearly 17 points with 39.12% of the vote against 22.54% for her opponent, Medhy Zeghouf (Together).

The one who launched an assault on this constituency for the third time, after a narrow defeat against Manuel Valls (related to LREM) in 2017, then against Francis Chouat (related to LREM) in 2018, achieves the best score of the Nupes on the department and finds himself in the position of big favorite for this second round.

Medhy Zeghouf has some voice reserves on the right, Samira Ketfi (LR) having obtained 9.91% of the vote, which, even with a good report, will be insufficient.

It remains to be seen what RN voters will do, Thiebauld Vega having finished third at 14.65%.

His party calls for voting neither for Together nor for Nupes.

In the 2nd (Étampes-Mennecy-Milly), an RN-Nupes duel

Vert-le-Grand, June 16, 2022. In the 2nd constituency of Essonne, Mathieu Hillaire (Nupes) and Nathalie da Conceiçao Carvalho (RN) are the candidates for the second round of the legislative elections.

Only 749 votes separate them.

This Sunday, voters in the 2nd district will have to choose between the rebellious Mathieu Hillaire for Nupes and Nathalie da Conceiçao Carvalho for the National Rally, the party of which she is the leader in the department.

Winning the ballot would be historic for both: you have to go back to 1981 to find a left-wing deputy in Sud-Essonne, and to 1986 for the first (and for the moment only) Essonne (related) Frontist deputy.

Arrived in the lead with 24.66%, Mathieu Hillaire intends to transform the dynamic.

But his rival, who is hot on his heels with 22.91%, hopes to tap into the votes of the voters of the mayor (UDI) of Mennecy, Jean-Philippe Dugoin-Clément, who came 4th behind the candidate for the presidential majority.

The latter did not give any voting instructions.

The presidential majority got off to a bad start in the 3rd (Dourdan-Brétigny)

Brétigny-sur-Orge, June 16, 2022. In the 3rd constituency of Essonne, Alexis Izard (Together) and Steevy Gustave (Nupes) compete in the second round of the legislative elections.

Who will succeed Laëtitia Romeiro-Dias?

The outgoing Macronist MP did not wish to stand again – her opponents claimed that she had been dismissed.

Replaced by Alexis Izard, candidate for the municipal elections of Savigny-sur-Orge, the latter did not succeed in his bet in a constituency where he was parachuted.

His 25.65% allowed him to qualify for the second round, but it was his opponent from Nupes, the ecologist Steevy Gustave, opposition municipal councilor in Brétigny-sur-Orge, who won the first round. with 28.72%.

This week, the latter received the support of Yannick Jadot who came to campaign with him.

The right-wing candidate Isabelle Perdereau, who came 4th, did not give voting instructions.

Together seems better engaged in the 4th (Longjumeau-Limours)

Longjumeau, June 16, 2022. In the 4th constituency of Essonne, Marie-Pierre Rixain (Together) is facing Amadou Deme (Nupes) for the second round of the legislative elections.

Of the four outgoing Macronist deputies (including Robin Reda, recently rallied to the presidential majority), Marie-Pierre Rixain is the one who is doing the best.

It is even the only one that came out on top in the first round thanks to its 31.72%.

She is ahead of her opponent from Nupes, Amadou Deme, by 2,081 votes.

The communist militant obtained 27.49%, far ahead of the RN (15.90%) or the right (10.26%).

He held a public meeting with Ian Brossat, PCF spokesperson, while Marie-Pierre Rixain surveyed the Longjumeau market alongside Rima Abdul Malak, the Minister of Culture, and Bruno Le Maire posted a message filmed to support her.

Cédric Villani on the way to winning his bet in the 5th (Saclay-Orsay)

Villiers-le-Bâcle, June 16, 2022. In the 5th constituency of Essonne, Paul Midy (Together) is facing Cédric Villani (Nupes) for the second round of the legislative elections.

The mathematician has surely made his calculations: Cédric Villani (Nupes) is ahead of Paul Midy (Ensemble) by 2,981 votes (38.2% against 30.53%).

But compared to the first round of the 2017 legislative elections, the outgoing MP lost 4,053 votes.

And to continue in the figures, he will surely look carefully at what the 6,222 voters of Michel Bournat, the mayor (LR) of Gif-sur-Yvette, will do in the second round.

Eliminated from the ballot, the latter called for a vote against Cédric Villani.

Paul Midy, Emmanuel Macron's self-claimed candidate, was sent by the President of the Republic to take over the constituency, won in 2017 by Cédric Villani, then LREM but who has since been expelled from the party.

In the 6th (Massy-Palaiseau), the minister in danger

Igny, June 16, 2022. For the second round of the legislative elections, Amélie de Montchalin (Together) and Jérôme Guedj (Nupes) are in the running in the 6th constituency.

Some play bigger than others.

In this case in the 6th, Minister Amélie de Montchalin risks her chair in the Assembly, but also her position in the government.

Because in the event of defeat against the socialist Jérôme Guedj (Nupes), the candidate (Together) will have to resign and let go of her new portfolio, Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion.

With 31.46%, she is on unfavorable waivers since her opponent, who did not qualify for the second round in 2017, came out on top with 38.31%.

Between the two, the war is open.

Four of the thirteen candidates in the first round decided to vote for Amélie de Montchalin (or against Nupes): Chantal Lacarrière (LR), Mokrane Sahari (DVD), Franck Chen (DVD) and Jules Rohault de Fleury (Volt).

This represents, potentially, 4,197 voters, enough to fill the 2,815 votes behind the minister.

Close duel in the 7th (Savigny - Athis-Mons)

Juvisy-sur-Orge, June 16, 2022. Robin Reda (Ensemble) and Claire Lejeune (Nupes) are the two candidates for the second round in the 7th constituency of Essonne.

If the outgoing deputy Robin Reda (ex-LR, now Together) is in an unfavorable ballot behind the candidate of Nupes, Claire Lejeune (LFI), who is ahead of him by three points, he nevertheless remains favorite for this second round.

In 2017, he had already found himself in a similar position against the candidate LREM, even trailing by 7 points to finally win.

Although having dropped his party, Les Républicains support him for this second round.

But the latter achieved a very mediocre score, barely 6.32%, in this constituency.

The duel looks tight.

Nicolas Dupont-Aignan in the lead in the 8th (Montgeron-Brunoy)

Yerres, June 16, 2022. Nicolas Dupont-Aignan (DLF) and Emilie Chazette-Guillet (LFI) compete in the 8th constituency of Essonne for the second round of the legislative elections.

After his very meager score in the presidential election, including in his stronghold of Yerres, it was tempting not to give much of Nicolas Dupont-Aignan's skin (DLF) for this sixth legislative campaign.

And yet, his city of Yerres (the largest in the constituency), of which he was mayor for twenty-two years, largely placed him in the lead last Sunday with 46.1%, which is even better than in 2017.

The outgoing deputy therefore came first in this first round with 33.54%, ahead of the Nupes candidate, Émilie Chazette-Guillet (LFI), at 30.5%.

But he achieved this score with the support of the RN and Reconquest, which did not present a candidate against him.

The voters of the candidate Together, Mohamed Bida (22.39%), therefore have the keys to this election.

The Ensemble candidate tossed around in the 9th (Draveil - Ris-Orangis)

Ris-Orangis, June 16, 2022. Marie Guévenoux (Together) is facing Nadhéra Beletreche (Nupes) in the 9th constituency of Essonne for the second round of the legislative elections.

Will the outgoing Macronist deputy, Marie Guévenoux, manage to keep her seat in the National Assembly?

The deputy general delegate of the presidential party had received the visit and support of the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, who came to Draveil a few days ago.

In the first round, she was overtaken by Nadhéra Beletreche (EELV), but by little (32.44% against 29.79%).

However, the Nupes candidate has few voice reserves for this second round.

To win, it will imperatively have to mobilize the abstentionists, especially in working-class neighborhoods.

A rebel in pole position in the 10th (Grigny - Sainte-Geneviève)

Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois, June 16, 2022. Nadia Carcasset (Ensemble) faces Antoine Léaument (Nupes) in the 10th constituency of Essonne for the second round of the legislative elections.

The native of Châteauroux (Indre), head of digital communication for Jean-Luc Mélenchon and LFI, has successfully landed in Essonne.

With 37.27% of the vote, Antoine Léaument is well ahead of the presidential majority candidate, Nadia Carcasset (26.21%).

The Nupes candidate came out on top in the five towns of the constituency, with a record 52.7% in Grigny.

The possible transfer of votes from the right to the candidate Ensemble should not be enough to make up for this delay.
