The Southern District Attorney's Office today (Sunday) filed an indictment in the District Court in the High Court of Justice against Sergei Bityukov for the aggravated murder of his late partner Luba Potchin.
According to the indictment, filed by attorneys Yariv Tzri and Noa Shuker, the defendant abused his partner, out of jealousy, throughout their relationship and when the defendant learned of her relationship with another, he decided to kill her.

On May 16, in Bityukov's apartment, while the deceased was talking to him about her romantic relationship with another man, the defendant took her shirt, wrapped it in a rope, wrapped it tightly around her neck to strangle her, and later pulled the deceased through it, leading to her death.
The indictment states that the defendant in his actions, "intentionally caused the death of the deceased who is his spouse, after systematic and ongoing abuse of her, physically and mentally and after an actual procedure of weighing and formulating a decision to kill."
The prosecution seeks to detain the defendant until the end of the legal proceedings against him.
