A 19-year-old student was stabbed in a room in a university residence in Tours overnight from Friday to Saturday and her 22-year-old ex-boyfriend was arrested, according to the prosecution.
Alerted during the night, the police discovered the young woman
"wounded by numerous stab wounds, especially in the throat and heart",
according to prosecutor Grégoire Dulin.
Thirty minutes later, the police found her ex-boyfriend,
"who had escaped through the window at the time of the intervention of a neighbor who had heard the cries of the young woman"
.
The young man was injured jumping from the first floor of the residence.
"The bloody knife that was probably used in the commission of the facts was found abandoned near the residence"
, specifies the magistrate.
A complaint filed last week
At first, the young man
"was immediately placed in police custody on the count of attempted voluntary homicide by an ex-spouse"
.
But, late Saturday morning
, "while he could not be heard, the custody of the main suspect - whose criminal record is clean - was lifted because of the incompatibility of his injury with this measure and of proven mental disorders”
, indicates the magistrate.

The medical examiner noted, during the examination of the student,
"the existence of numerous frank penetrating wounds with a concentration of these wounds under the left pectoral region and in the left cervical region"
, according to the prosecutor's press release.
The vital prognosis of the victim is no longer engaged and his condition is described as stable by the medical profession.
The hearings of the entourage of the author and the victim continue, indicates Mr. Dulin, specifying that the young woman
"had filed a complaint on June 14 for acts of domestic violence committed by her ex-boyfriend on the 19 and May 20, 2022”.
The prosecution
“will open at the beginning of the week a judicial investigation of the count of attempted voluntary homicide by an ex-spouse.
An examining magistrate will be in charge of the continuation of the investigations”,
