Yaël Braun-pivet, Minister of Overseas, re-elected in Yvelines

Elected MP in 2017 in the wake of the election of Emmanuel Macron, the parliamentarian was appointed to the government in 2022.


Yaël Braun-Pivet was re-elected MP in the fifth constituency of Yvelines this Sunday evening, with 61.44% of the vote.

Outgoing MP and now Minister of Overseas, Yaël Braun-Pivet was the big favorite in this electoral plot.

She beat Nupes candidate Sophie Thevenet (38.56% of the vote).

In the first round, she came in well ahead with 36.59% of the vote, more than 13 points ahead of her competitor.

Elected deputy in 2017 in the wake of the election of Emmanuel Macron, the parliamentarian from Yvelines quickly established herself as one of the figures of the presidential majority.

The former criminal lawyer converted into the community had been, to everyone's surprise, elected president of the very prestigious Law Commission of the National Assembly only a few weeks after her election.

She was then appointed Minister of Overseas after the 2022 presidential election in place of Sébastien Lecornu.
