Before the G7 summit begins in Elmau, things will get loud again in Munich: an alliance of G7 critics is expecting thousands of demonstrators on the Theresienwiese on Saturday.
Munich/Elmau – There are only a few days left before the heads of government of the seven largest industrial nations sit opposite each other at the negotiating table in Schloss Elmau.
True to the motto "Progress for a just world", the politicians want to discuss global issues such as the Ukraine war or the energy crisis at the G7 summit in Elmau.
Critics of the political meeting don't go far enough: They demand action instead of talk.

More than 15 organizations have formed an alliance that has been planning a large G7 demonstration in Munich for some time.
Thousands of protesters are expected on the Theresienwiese on the day before the summit, next Saturday (June 25).
The rally has four focal points: phasing out fossil fuels, preserving animal and plant diversity, social justice on the planet and fighting hunger.

At a press conference under the motto "Justice works differently", the organizers once again made it clear that the G7 states should act.
You have to stop the climate crisis and the extinction of species and take consistent action against hunger, poverty and inequality in the world, the alliance said on Monday (June 20) in Munich.
In addition, dependence on oil, gas and coal must be ended as a consequence of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.
G7 summit critics come from many different camps
"We expect it to be a peaceful, colorful and beautiful demonstration," said Uwe Hiksch.
He registered the rally and is a member of the Federal Board of Friends of Nature.
The G7 demo alliance also includes the Campact association, which specializes in online campaigns, Greenpeace, Misereor and Brot für die Welt.

The demonstration march through downtown Munich is to be framed by an opening and closing rally.
As of Monday, 22 short speeches and live music performances are planned.
The rally is part of the numerous protest actions surrounding the G7 summit at Schloss Elmau, which will take place from June 26 to 28, 2022.
