The Nuremberg city beach is exactly one month until July 17th.

Not all visitors are obviously enthusiastic about the new "Citybeach" concept.

Nuremberg – new name, new luck?

Immediately after the start of the new Nuremberg City Beach, critical voices were raised about the new concept on Nuremberg's former city beach.

"Not possible this year.

Too expensive, too boring and unfriendly service”, for example, one visitor complained relatively clearly on the Internet.

"I also think that the quality has dropped significantly, but the prices have risen sharply," said another visitor on the Internet critically.

Like the telephone area code: Nuremberg's city beach is now called "0911-Citybeach".

Nuremberg city beach expensive?

"That's why we have different prices than at the quarry lake"

"We charge 4.80 euros for half a beer," Robert Förster now defends the beer prices when asked, referring to the high cost.

“The island of Schütt is usually a concrete desert.

We have to conjure up the whole beach flair first.

That's why we have different prices than at the Baggersee," says Förster, who took over the city beach from showman colleague Lorenz Kalb this year together with Kurt Grauberger.

Came up with the idea of the telephone area code for the new name "0911 City Beach": Kurt Grauberger and Robert Förster.

City Beach in Nuremberg until July 17th

Meanwhile, Förster admits that there were a few problems with the quality of the cocktails and service when it started around six weeks ago.

In the meantime, however, they have been turned off.

There will always be people who cannot be made right.

Overall, the visitors are satisfied with the new location.

The "holiday oasis" in the heart of the Franconian metropolis will be open until July 17, Förster is looking forward to the next beach weeks in the city.

Nuremberg: "We often go to City Beach"

"We often go to City Beach to enjoy the holiday feeling," says Dilan, who made the pilgrimage to the sandy island with her friends Sharon, Julia and Wida on this hot summer evening.

There is a carafe of sangria on the small beach table between the sun loungers.

Spanish rhythms provide Ibiza flair from the speakers.

“We usually always sit by the pool.

But we couldn't find any more space today," says Dilan, pointing to the round beach bar in the knee-deep water.

The euphoria surrounding the "perm" is huge.

City beach in Nuremberg: visitors find the city beach "pretty cool"

Meanwhile, Cindy and Stella have made themselves comfortable with a cocktail directly at the edge of the pool under the raffia umbrella.

The two visitors think the new city beach is “pretty cool”.

Only the idea of the new bosses, to make a pilgrimage to the beach in high-heeled shoes, does the two visitors find a bit off.

“Who goes to the beach in high heels anyway?” Stella asks, rolling her eyes briefly.

The background is easy to explain.

In order to attract new visitors to the island with fine shoes, the new beach masters have created a small area with no sand bottom for the first time this year.

For cost reasons, the island beach has been reduced somewhat.

Old attractions like the beach volleyball court no longer exist.

Feet in the sand, drink in hand: The old secret of success has of course remained.
