A momentous accident happened on Monday afternoon on the A94 near Dorfen.

Two vehicles caught fire.

The Isentalautobahn was closed into the evening.

Dorfen – The emergency call came in around 4 p.m.: On the A94, the Isental autobahn, two vehicles collided in the direction of travel between the Dorfen and Schwindegg junctions.

So far, so commonplace - but not for long.

The force of the impact lifted the car onto the median barrier.

A fire broke out in one of the accident vehicles, which quickly spread to the second.

Among other things, a van from a tinsmith shop in Wadlkraiburg was involved.

According to initial findings from the scene of the accident, he had also loaded gas cylinders, some of which are said to have exploded.

The control center alerted the fire brigades in Dorfen, St. Wolfgang, Lengdorf, Ampfing, Heldenstein and Obetaufkirchen.

The Mühldorf motorway police blocked the A94 in both directions between Dorfen and Schwindegg.

The lockdown lasted into the evening hours.

At times there was a traffic jam several kilometers long.

Nothing is known about the cause of the accident, nor about possible injuries and property damage.
