It seems that electric public transportation is becoming a reality.

In recent days, we have learned that Ginergy has won a tender from the Ayalon Highways company for the construction and operation of a passenger parking lot in Rishon Lezion, intended for electric buses.

In the parking lot located next to the Berfeld Stadium in the south of the city, 28 ultra-fast dual charging stations with a capacity of 180 kilowatts each will be installed.

Such an amount of fast charging stations necessitates the preparation of dedicated infrastructure for this purpose.

For this parking lot, such an electrical infrastructure will be established with a capacity of about 6 megawatts, the capacity is unprecedented in terms of charging all electric vehicles in Israel in one complex.

It is this infrastructure that will allow fast loading of dozens of buses at the same time.

The works in the parking lot have been underway in this area for several weeks and are expected to be completed in July 2022. The charging station for electric buses in Rishon Lezion will be the second charging station located in Israel in addition to the charging station in the Big Ashdod complex, where 16 fast charging stations were also installed.
