The Schliersee municipal council has tightened the kindergarten fees.

The childcare costs will increase by ten percent in the next kindergarten year.

A comparison based on current events shows that there are clear differences in the district when it comes to fees.

District – The increase in Schliersee was coordinated with the management of the four local facilities so that different rates do not apply here, it said at the meeting.

While Schliersee has the Rainbow and Kleine Heimat kindergartens under its own management, in Neuhaus it is run by the Catholic Church and in the case of the forest kindergarten by an association.

Finally, Gerhard Waas (Greens) asked how Schliersee compares fees with other municipalities.

Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer (CSU) could not answer this ad hoc.

This is how the kindergarten fees in the district are presented (excerpt).

In fact, as our newspaper's research shows, there are clear differences.

It is particularly cheap in the Inge-Beisheim community kindergarten in Agatharied.

According to the website to which the municipality refers, 104 euros per month are due for care of six to seven hours a day.

There are also three euros in play money and 2.50 euros per meal.

The AWO facility in Otterfing (eight euros) and Kleine Heimat Schliersee (ten euros), for example, are significantly higher when it comes to play money.

In the sample we looked at, food sometimes goes up to 4.50 euros in the Straß kindergarten in Miesbach, although the Catholic kindergarten, where the same fees apply, also mentions a monthly meal allowance of 55 euros.

The handling of the drink money is different.

Sometimes nothing is required at all, sometimes monthly, sometimes even annually.

Occasionally, institutions also list a fruit fee in their fee tables.

If you are looking for discounts for a second child attending the facility, you sometimes have to dig deep into the municipal fee schedules.

There are different models here too.

Some facilities simply deduct 30 or 40 euros for the second child, others 20 or 30 percent.

In Kreuth there is also the model that ten euros are waived from three children living in a family (up to the age of 18).

Which further complicates the calculation of costs.

In some cases, items are only collected for eleven months, and there are also differences in dealing with absences.

It probably makes the most sense for the parents to ask about the details directly at an open day, which is offered by many kindergartens.

In any case, the selection is usually limited to facilities close to where you live, and possibly also to your place of work.

In many municipalities, but not all, at least the childcare fees are uniform.

Financial considerations play a rather subordinate role anyway.

Especially since the state subsidy of 100 euros per kindergarten child reduces the burden.
