The CSU wants to present its own energy paper on Monday.

In particular, the normal earner should be in focus.

Söder meanwhile criticizes the traffic light.

Munich – The CSU calls for a new relief package for the middle of the population and faster steps for an energy transition.

"To date, the traffic light has not presented a sustainable concept for energy supply and for combating the massively rising prices," said party leader Markus Söder in our newspaper.

Among other things, he called for the VAT on staple foods to be abolished.

Söder shoots against the traffic lights and their energy policy

Söder demands that politicians must "urgently focus more on normal earners who have a justified fear of social decline".

He also proposes dynamically increasing the commuter allowance and reducing the cold progression.

The CSU also wants to demand more commitment from Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) in order to become independent of Russian energy.

“We need a gas summit to clarify the supply situation in Germany.

Where is replacement gas, when is it coming and what is the security?" said Söder.

He scoffed at proposals to lower minimum indoor temperatures.

"State-ordered freezing is a declaration of bankruptcy and cannot be the solution for Germany."

CSU wants a longer term for nuclear power plants

In the position paper, which the board of directors is to discuss on Monday and which is available to our newspaper in advance, the CSU demands "a temporary extension of nuclear power until at least 2024".

The 300-euro energy flat rate must be extended to pensioners, students and caregivers.

The federal government should also pay a “winter housing benefit” to people on low incomes for six months.

The commuter allowance is to rise immediately to 38 cents.
