While other amusement parks have designated zones for smokers, in Europapark smoking is permitted throughout the park with a few exceptions.
Some fans are therefore calling for smoking islands to be introduced.
Rust - In the USA, there has been a strict smoking ban in amusement parks such as Disneyland, Disneyworld and Co. since May 2019. In Germany, too, people want to deal with the topic responsibly.
Amusement parks such as Tripsdrill (Ludwigsburg district) also prohibit smoking throughout the park - smoking is only permitted in designated "smokers' islands".
Fans cannot understand that there are no such zones in Europa-Park.
"When will there finally be smoking areas in Europa-Park, as they are already known from other amusement parks?" ask the operators of the
EP-Board.de
fan account on Twitter.
"Unfortunately, today you are bothered with cigarette smoke or the smell of e-cigarettes every ten meters, unfortunately."
Europa-Park visitors have been discussing a smoking ban in the park for a long time, as reported by BW24.
So far, smoking is permitted there with a few exceptions.
Smoking is not permitted in the attractions, in waiting areas, in shows, during performances and gatherings of people, or in designated non-smoking zones, but there are no restrictions in the rest of the park.
Europa-Park: In a survey, 79 percent of fans want smoke-free zones
The tweet about the smoking ban in Europa-Park apparently received such a large amount of feedback that the authors started a survey on the platform shortly afterwards.
"Who wants smoking zones in Europa-Park?" It says.
Of 119 users (as of June 15, 11:29 a.m.), 79 percent voted for the smoke-free zones, 14.3 percent against and 6.7 percent abstained.
Also in the
EP-Board.de
forum , the verdict on possible smoking zones in Europa-Park is quite clear.
"A general smoking ban with defined smoking areas contributes to improved ecological sustainability and protects the health of non-smokers and children," writes one user in the forum.
Another says: "I think as long as you're outside and not in the waiting area, I have no problem with it - but if these zones are to come at Europa-Park, I should be fine.
Tripsdrill and Legoland already have smoking areas.” A third party suggests that the smoking ban be specifically designed for areas where attractions for children are located.
