According to reports, the male driver of the car was unconscious and was trapped in the car with the female passenger.

After the firefighters received the report, the swimming rope fell, and the female passenger was rescued first. She was still awake, but was only slightly injured. The ambulancemen gave first aid to the male driver who was trapped in the car, and initially regained consciousness and could answer the rescuers. Tools are being used to pry the body open in an attempt to free the driver.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.


Affected by the incident, the uphill direction of Fei Ngo Shan Road and the uphill direction of Sha Tin Pass Road were temporarily closed to allow rescuers to rescue the injured.


At about 0:15 a.m. on the 21st, rescuers rescued the male driver and returned to the surface.

He was seriously injured and had to wear a neck brace and an oxygen mask to help him breathe.

It is understood that the driver was caught by the modified "A-pillar" after the accident and was unable to move.

Police said the male driver, surnamed Yang, was 30 years old and had injuries to his hands and chest; the female passenger, surnamed Zhang, was 26 years old and suffered injuries to his feet and forehead.

According to reports, the private car involved was driving along Tza Shan Road towards Wong Tai Sin. When it reached Tza Shan Road near lamp post AF0467, the private car lost control and crashed into Shek Pok and fell about 15 meters deep into the hillside. The driver was trapped for a time.

Officers arrived at the scene, the fire department rescued the driver, and was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

The female passenger was sober and was taken to United Hospital for treatment.

The trapped male driver was rescued by firefighters and ambulancemen and taken to an ambulance.
