Sufficient rainfall over the past few months has protected the Ebersberger Forest during these hot days.
The grassland fire index, on the other hand, is expected to increase in the district.
Landkreis
-Handling Risk of Level 4 of 5 reported the German Weather Service on the past weekend for large parts of the district.
In addition, observation aircraft circled over the Upper Bavarian forests to detect smoke developments at an early stage.
According to Heinz Utschig, manager of the responsible state forests in Wasserburg, this is currently a rather superfluous measure for the Ebersberg forest.
Forest boss: "We are blessed with rain this year!"
"We've been blessed with rain this year!" says Utschig to EZ.
In addition, the vegetation is in good sap, the branches, especially in the large areas of mixed forest, have long been wrapped in lush green - thanks to the ongoing forest conversion.
"I don't see any risk of forest fires there," says the forest boss.
But that is a weather-related peculiarity in the Alpine storage area, in which the Ebersberg forest is also located.
"Ideal precipitation!" says Utschig about the general weather situation in recent months.
Therefore, the young plantings and cultures are in good condition.
Watering the land artificially is only an option for owners of small forest areas anyway.
For a casting that organizes something, five liters per plant are needed - in the huge forest "totally senseless", says the manager.
Higher risk level expected in the grassland fire index of the German Weather Service
The experts, on the other hand, estimate the risk outside the forests to be higher: According to the current forecast, the grassland fire index will rise from warning category 3 to 4 out of 5 possible points from Thursday - so every citizen is called upon to exercise caution when dealing with fire in nature.
