A commander of the Revolutionary Guards confirmed today (Monday) that a deliberate "industrial sabotage" had indeed occurred on a production line at the research facility at the Perchin military compound in May.
In the attack, Ahsan Qadbaiji, an engineer for the Ministry of Defense, was killed and another person was injured, said Revolutionary Guards officer Imam Hussein.
On May 26, the Iranian news agency Tasnim reported a man killed and injured in a "work accident" at a factory in Perchin, near Tehran, as a result of a UAV attack - according to a New York Times report, based on the three Iranians involved in the case. And a U.S. official, the UAV has targeted a military facility where studies are underway to develop drones and unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to the newspaper, the attack "suited the pattern of Israeli attacks on Iran and Lebanon in the past."
Israel did not respond to a report.
The incident took place a few days after the assassination of a senior Revolutionary Guards officer in the heart of Tehran, which, according to a US publication, Israel has confirmed that it is responsible for.
The New York Times reported that Israel had informed the United States that it was responsible for the assassination of Hassan Siad Khodai, a senior officer in the Iranian army.
Following the publication, officials in the defense establishment criticized the conduct of the Americans, saying that "such publication endangers Israel."
