A 29-year-old driver was temporarily arrested at Irschenberg and reported for forgery, smuggling and driving without a license.

Irschenberg - On Wednesday, June 15, at around 12:15 p.m., officers from the Raubling Border Police Station stopped a driver who did not have a driver's license but had drugs on board.

The police statement in full:

"Right from the start of the check at Irschenberg, the border police observed the driver of the VW trying to hide an object under the driver's seat.

It turned out to be a chunk of hashish.

The officers then found two more chunks of hashish, a small amount of marijuana and several grams of psilocybin mushrooms in a plastic bag.

Picture of fake driver's license shown on mobile phone

The 29-year-old driver said he was on his way from the Netherlands to Italy and didn't have a driver's license with him.

However, he showed a picture on his mobile phone that was supposed to show his Romanian driver's license.

However, the investigators realized that it was a fake.

Furthermore, the personal data check revealed a current manhunt for driving without a license.

The public prosecutor's office in Aurich was looking for the native Romanian to clarify his whereabouts.

Car no longer drivable

The 29-year-old was arrested and reported for forging documents, smuggling cannabis and other narcotics and driving without a license.

After the man had deposited a low four-digit euro amount as security, he was released again.

However, he had to leave his vehicle: on the one hand because he did not have a driver's license and on the other hand because the VW lost coolant and was no longer roadworthy," writes the border police.
