BRUSSELS, 20 JUN - "The activity of the euro area is being held back by high energy costs, by the intensification of supply chain disruptions and by greater uncertainty" brought about by Russia's war in Ukraine.
This was stated by the president of the ECB, Christine Lagarde, in a hearing in the Parliament's Economic Commission
The ECB's forecasts do not indicate a "recession" of the Eurozone, but there could be risks of worsening growth in the event of negative developments in the war in Ukraine, difficulties in accessing oil and gas and a boycott by Russia.
This was indicated by the president of the ECB, Christine Lagarde, in a hearing in the Economic Commission of the European Parliament.
"We are following very closely what is happening in the economy," she added.
