Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman said today (Monday) at a meeting of the Yisrael Beiteinu faction that there is no room for any attempts to fuel the housing protest.
"There are media people who go out of their way - but there are 69,000 construction starts within a year and 79,000 permits so we can see a drop in housing prices within six months," he said.

Lieberman also referred to the teachers' crisis and said that his office staff are in contact with the Histadrut.
"We talk all the time, yesterday I met with the Minister of Education and the Teachers 'Union and tomorrow I will meet with the National Parents' Committee," he stressed.
I call on Lipa Ben-David and the Histadrut to take a time-out and stop with the strikes.
We are in the midst of feverish contacts and I propose to enter into direct negotiations from Sunday until we reach an agreement. "
Lieberman added that he expects the Histadrut to reach negotiations that he proposed "without prejudice without ultimatums and dictates."
"We need to come open to enter into real and continuous negotiations. I propose to end the strike and that on Sunday we will sit down and make a real, honest and continuous effort to reach an agreement."
