Municipalities are also feeling the rising costs in their plans.

Some projects are put to the test.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

- Everything is getting more expensive.

Prices are not only skyrocketing for groceries, costs are also rising in the construction industry.

Builders have to weigh up exactly what they can still afford.

But not only they - municipalities also have to check whether they are able to implement their projects as planned.

Lenggries

"We canceled a tender because it was too expensive," says Lenggries Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher.

“Here, the plan was about 40 percent higher than the estimate.

We are now trying to find another solution.” The mayor does not want to say which building project is involved.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new fire station in Schlegldorf recently took place.

"Here, all major measures have been assigned," says Klaffenbacher.

“We are within budget with the costs.

If there are no extraordinary increases, we are satisfied so far.” The mayor sees a bigger problem in the fact that there are hardly any offers.

"We sometimes get back tenders for which we didn't get any offers at all."

According to Klaffenbacher, it is also unclear how the financial situation in the community will develop as a result of the war in Ukraine.

"Since we have to pay a third of the accommodation costs for the accommodation of the refugees, we will probably postpone some projects that are not absolutely necessary." These costs were not yet planned in the budget.

"We have to make sure that we don't overdo it."

"We are examining closely, but are currently refraining from postponing construction projects," says Kochel's Mayor Thomas Holz.

"With our two major projects, the construction of 16 municipal apartments and the construction yard on the site of the former amplifier office, we are currently behind schedule due to unnecessary court proceedings." Since a construction yard is urgently needed in Kochel, we are sticking to it.

"Not at any price, but at the moment we're saying: We'll pull it off," said the mayor.

The municipality of Kochel receives subsidies for municipal housing construction.

"If the costs are higher, the funding will also be higher," says Holz.

In addition, the construction of a rescue station for mountain and water rescue services is currently being examined in Kochel.

“There is an urgent need for action here,” says Holz.

For the planned renovation of the heating and the roof in the town hall, the municipality did not receive any offer in the tender.

"Although we don't want to, we'll probably have to postpone it," says the mayor.

"This is a strange time.

Everyone hopes for improvement, of course, but if you believe the experts, it's only going to get worse."

Bad Heilbrunn

According to Mayor Thomas Gründl, there are some urgent projects in Bad Heilbrunn.

One of them is the day care center.

"You can maybe postpone it by a few months," says Gründl.

But he has concerns: "I don't know if it will be easier then." Unforeseen construction sites can also occur from time to time, such as a burst pipe.

"You can't postpone something like that," says Gründl.

Other projects, such as the fire brigade equipment house Mürnsee or the redesign of the town center will only be advertised in winter.

Another construction project is the large day care in the “Haus des Gastes”.

"We are trying to implement this project with local craftsmen," says the mayor.

"We can't put that off." After all, there is a great need for daycare places.

Gründl hopes things will get better next year when it comes to building.

Jachenau

"We have few construction projects in the pipeline because of our tight budgetary situation," says Felix Kellner, manager of the municipality.

35,000 euros - that's the sum that the municipality wants to build up next year.

Only smaller projects are specifically planned.

"But you often don't get any binding offers at all in tenders at the moment," Kellner had to state.

A project in the municipality is the planned flood protection on the Große Laine.

When it comes to flood control, however, the Jachenau community has no influence on the costs, says Kellner.

Last summer, the calculations were 1.8 million euros.

But today it is clear: "The originally planned costs will be significantly more expensive," says Kellner.

The municipality accounts for 30 percent of this.

"We are excited to see what comes out."

Wackersberg

The municipality of Wackersberg has not yet postponed any of its planned construction projects.

"But that can still come," says branch manager Martin Gams.

Gaissach

The construction of the double gymnasium is currently underway in Gaißach.

The concrete work there is just about to be completed and the carpenter is in the starting blocks, says Mayor Stefan Fadinger.

The situation is similar in the kindergarten, where, according to Fadinger, the basement area is currently being concreted.

"We have to finish," he says.

Because: "This year there are already many applications for kindergarten places." Overall, everything is going as planned.

Nevertheless, Gaißach's mayor says they will certainly consider postponing one or the other project for next year.

“We have to see what is urgently needed.

We'll get together in the fall."
