GAP - The G7 summit at Schloss Elmau is being prepared and is omnipresent in Werdenfelser Land these days.
The meeting of the big "seven" will also determine the concert of the music band Partenkirchen this Wednesday evening at 8 p.m.
While the powerful of this world devote themselves to difficult global political issues at the castle from Sunday, the focus at the concert in Partenkirchner Kurpark is exclusively on the music.
As in 2015, the musicians have set themselves the task of playing representative melodies for each of the seven participating countries, which is quite a challenge.
The orchestra basically has an extremely large repertoire of works with music from all over the world.
Pieces of music from Canada and Japan have not yet been included.
With the overture "Silver Creek Valley" by Kees Vlak, the conductor Josef Grasegger quickly found a sonorous piece of music that musically represents the beauty of the North American continent.
However, the search for a melody from Asia that could be played by a wind band was more difficult.
A member of the band was able to remedy this.
With the song "Ue o muite aruko", which is very well known and popular in Japan, Alexander Kaufmann not only found a worthy representative for the country.
He also arranged it for brass bands and solo vocals.
So the orchestra can now come up with melodies from all seven participating countries on Wednesday evening, even if this unusual mix is definitely a challenge for those involved.
The listeners can look forward to a special concert with peak music and, above all, two premieres.
The Japanese song performed by Alexander Kaufmann in the original language will definitely be an outstanding experience.
The band also guarantees that the concert will do without any political statements.
The Kurpark in Partenkirchen - in contrast to the rest of the town - does not require any security areas or barriers.
In fact, visitors can enjoy the concert as usual with free admission without any accreditation, police checks or traffic jams.
And the musical summit meeting has another advantage: it is a well-known fact that music manages without words and connects people across all linguistic and political barriers.
