On the occasion of the International Day of Music and the Silver Jubilee of the departure of the artist Fahd Ballan, an event was held this evening at the Arab Cultural Center in the city of Shahba in Sweida.
The director of the Fahd Ballan Institute for Arabic Music, artist Adham Azgoul, pointed out during the symposium entitled “Fahd Ballan, a story that cannot be explained,” to the most important artistic stations that the late experienced from his beginnings in 1957 in the choir of Radio Damascus before he went to Aleppo at the invitation of its director at the time and the most important The songs he presented and collaborated with the great composers Abdel Fattah Sukkar, Shaker Brikhan and Suhail Arafa.
Azgoul devoted a space to talk about the artist Blanc’s station in Beirut, the artist Najib Hankash’s launch of the title of “singer of manhood” and the spread of his songs in Lebanon, as well as his cooperation with Lebanese composers, including Melhem Barakat, Afif Radwan, Filimon Wehbe, Hassan Ghandour and Elie Choueiri, in addition to the most important poets of the song from Syria Issa Ayoub and Hussein Hamza and Omar Halabi and from Lebanon Abdul Jalil Wahba, Michel Tohme and Dhafer Al-Sabouni.
Azgoul touched on the artist’s trip to Egypt, at the invitation of the late artist Abdel Halim Hafez, and presenting him at the City Lights concert, a group of his songs, which made the press write a lot about him, and he gained the admiration of the great composers such as Riyad Al-Sunbati, Mahmoud Al-Sharif and Muhammad Al-Mouji, as well as the great Syrian musician Farid Al-Atrash, where he presented him with two songs “Ma Qadrash on Keda, Shui and Shui Ya Bani.” In addition to his cooperation with the composers Sayed Makkawi, Khaled Al-Amir and Baligh Hamdi, with a set of the most beautiful songs. At the end of his trip to Egypt, there was a melody project for the musician Riyad Al-Sunbati, but the death of Al-Sunbati prevented it from being completed.
He also referred to the stations of the late in the countries of the Maghreb and the Arab Gulf, especially Oman, which he singled out for a group of songs, as well as his performance of a number of concerts in the continents of North and South America and Europe until he returned after a period of relocations to his homeland Syria and settled in Suwayda Governorate, where he was credited with establishing the Southern Region branch He joined the Artists Syndicate and met with the writer and composer Saado Al-Deeb, who presented him with the tunes of a group of songs that smell of belonging to the land, such as “Day on a day and it is precious to us, O mountain and O bird,” in addition to the badge of many dramas.
Azgoul devoted an aspect to talking about Fahd Ballan's patriotic songs and his experience in the field of cinema through 13 films, the most important of which were the Knights of Love with Maryam Fakhr El-Din and Al Qaheroon with Samira Tawfiq and Ya Salam on Love with Najah Salam and Lulu Contract with Sabah.
The symposium was accompanied by the presentation of videos of Fahd Ballan's songs, as well as the playing and singing of a group of songs according to the stages of development in the late's career, presented by a group of professors and students of the Fahd Ballan Institute of Arabic Music.
