The Feneberg company is faced with criticism.
This involves the use of a disabled parking space at the Murnau branch.
Because he clearly exceeded the permitted time, an Eglfinger had to pay a fine.
Murnau
– Jürgen Rieskamp is angry.
Eglfinger (71) calls what happened to him and a young person with a severe handicap whom he looks after "anti-disabled action".
But from the front: Rieskamp parked his car with Alina (15), who is blind and in a wheelchair, in the parking lot in front of Murnau's Feneberg market in the disabled parking space.
He placed the parking permit for the disabled in the vehicle.
The two went shopping.
"Because of her remaining sight, she is very happy when we drive slowly along the shelves in the wheelchair and she discovers goods that are interesting for her," says Rieskamp.
"Because of her intellectual disability, we talk about the item and then decide whether to put it in the cart.
Of course, that takes longer and doesn’t mean a quick purchase.”
No comment from the company
The result: Rieskamp had to pay a fine of 35 euros because he had parked there for too long, namely five hours.
Neither at Feneberg nor at the company that monitors the parking lot was Eglfinger able to get the penalty fee waived.
Last week, when asked by the daily newspaper, Feneberg was unable to comment on the incident.
Maximum parking time is two hours
An employee of the food chain with headquarters in Kempten (Allgäu) pointed out to Eglfinger that Feneberg would like to "keep the disabled parking spaces free for our disabled customers and not have them occupied by long-term parkers over a longer period of time".
"This is indicated by sufficient signage." The maximum parking time of two hours is definitely enough for shopping and a visit to the post office.
The General Terms and Conditions (GTC) are posted at the entrance to the car park.
The parking agency told Rieskamp that he had the opportunity to "reasonably" take note of the content.
"Because the parking attendant works with cameras, they cannot see whether a disabled person is parking with a parking permit," says Rieskamp.
He also claims to have found errors in the terms and conditions.
Former blind teacher annoyed by behavior
The pensioner, who used to be a blind teacher in Munich, cannot understand the behavior of Feneberg and the park agency.
“It annoyed me that people with disabilities are treated like that.
I don't think that's okay."

Eglfinger would like a longer parking time
Alina is a social orphan with whom Rieskamp has been going on trips for six years.
She is housed in Munich in a home for the blind.
For example, Eglfinger spent a few days with her in Saulgrub at the Aura Hotel.
Rieskamp would think it would be a pity if it were no longer possible to go shopping at Feneberg due to the parking time.
He is convinced: "If this is a parking space for disabled people, you can't limit it without further ado." So he wishes that you could park there longer.
So that Alina can participate in life, experience something and enjoy the shelves in the supermarket.
