Social Security will hold a press conference this afternoon (Monday) at which a "historic line on the subject of medical committees, how they conduct themselves in front of the public and how decisions are made will be revealed," according to the National Insurance Institute.
The press conference will be attended by the Minister of Welfare and Social Security, MK Meir Cohen, the Director General of the National Insurance Institute, Meir Spiegler, the Deputy Director of Disabilities and Rehabilitation at the National Insurance Institute, Yarona Shalom.
The medical committees in the Social Security, whose job it is to determine the percentage of disability for a person injured in an event, are often publicly criticized for their cumbersomeness and bureaucracy that has become an integral part of the process and makes it very difficult for citizens to apply for disability benefits.
Apparently, today the institution's plan to ease bureaucracy will be presented.
