Syrian students in Russia and the CIS discuss their issues and problems in their regular conference

The periodic conference of the branch of the National Union of Syrian Students in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States discussed student issues and affairs related to study, accommodation, travel and problems facing their lives.

In their conference, which was held under the slogan (a covenant that we renew with knowledge, steadfastness and victory), the students renewed their solidarity with their mother country, Syria, and their determination to continue their educational attainment to contribute to the reconstruction of what was destroyed by terrorism.

The Conference elected the Administrative Committee of nine members and seven reserve members from among the candidates for membership in the Administrative Board of the Union Branch in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

In a speech during the conference, Syria’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Dr. Riyad Haddad, referred to the great role played by Syrians residing abroad, led by students studying in foreign universities, as they are the best representatives of their country and defenders of its causes, stressing that Syria cooperates closely with friends and allies, led by the Russian Federation. It coordinates with them at the highest levels to achieve its interests.

Haddad pointed to the outstanding performance of the Union branch during the last period and the need to continue to meet the aspirations and interests of students.

Haddad presented the latest political developments that Syria and the Arab region are going through.

In interviews with SANA’s correspondent in Moscow, the doctoral student delegated to Russia, Ibrahim Al-Wazi, indicated that the conference was rich in discussing many special issues, explaining that the embassy promised to provide all forms of assistance to find appropriate solutions in cooperation with the responsible bodies in Syria and Russia.

The delegated doctoral student, Marah Daly, drew attention to the great cooperation of the National Union of Syrian Students and its work on solving students' problems.

The conference was attended by the Vice President of the National Union of Syrian Students, Head of the Foreign Branches Department, Amer Tlass, and representatives of the two Syrian airlines and Cham Wings in Russia.
