Within the activities of the National Campaign for the Early Detection of Cervical, Breast and Prostate Cancers launched by the National Program for Cancer Control in Syria in Lattakia Governorate, the second day of the campaign witnessed a remarkable turnout from citizens wishing to conduct a survey for cancer detection in the National Hospital, the General Authority for Children and Obstetrics Hospital in Latakia, and at the National Hospital in Lattakia. protoplasm.

In statements to SANA reporter, the Director of the National Hospital in Lattakia, Dr. Siham Makhoul, indicated that the center witnessed today and yesterday a good turnout from those wishing to conduct tests on the three cancers, as a center for early detection was allocated within the hospital, fully equipped with nursing and technical staff and providing its services until the 25th of July Next for free.

The Director-General of the General Authority of the Children’s Hospital and Obstetrics Hospital in Latakia, Dr. Ahmed Al-Farra, said: The turnout at the hospital center was remarkable today and yesterday, which reflects the state of awareness and sense of responsibility among citizens who wish to prevent the risk of cancer from themselves, believing in the importance of early detection in achieving recovery.

Regarding the center’s work mechanism, Aya Suqour from the Syrian Trust Center for Development said: A paper and electronic form is filled out for each case, personal data and answers to private and public questions are given.

The lab, Lina Ahmed, said: We draw blood samples for a prostate analysis, and they are treated in the laboratory according to the technical principles, to be delivered at the end of the day to the Health Directorate, and the result is issued after two or three days. The remarkable turnout of women to undergo examinations reflects the state of their awareness of cancer and its seriousness to the patient and his family.

The reviewers, Nisreen Rahal, Lama Zaitoun, and Wafa Mustafa, who underwent mammogram and cervical smear tests, advised all women over the age of forty to undergo these tests because early detection of the disease speeds up the healing process.

Mahmoud Alloush pointed out that he was keen to perform a prostate analysis due to the presence of 3 different cancer cases in his family.

In Jableh, the supervisor of mammography at the National Hospital in Jableh, Dr. Khadija Kahil, said in a statement to SANA reporter that every patient over the age of 40 is photographed to ensure her health condition, noting that the turnout is good and the hospital staff are working with their maximum capacity to carry out the campaign in an optimal manner, especially that the examination procedure It helps in early detection of the disease and facilitates the treatment process.

The nurse, Ramia Hasina, pointed out that blood samples are taken from patients, prepared and entered into the laboratory.

The review, Ahlam Al-Shawa, indicated that the campaign reduces costs for citizens when conducting examinations to check on their health, while Hassan Ismail pointed out that he has symptoms of the disease, which prompted him to conduct a prostate examination to speed up treatment if his condition is stable.

The two ladies, Nabila and Diop, pointed out the importance of spreading health awareness and education to invest in this free campaign and push citizens to undergo examinations and undergo treatment if the infection is confirmed.

Suhad Saad considered that these checks are periodic and there are no fears of conducting them, while Arwa Masoud thanked all those in charge of the campaign because of its positive effects on citizens.
