Police this morning (Monday) arrested five suspects in an affair centered on a fraudulent venture around the world.
According to the suspicion, the suspects deceived dozens of investors from Israel and abroad, in the amount of about NIS 120 million. One of the suspects arrested, the son of a former chief of staff.
According to the police statement, this morning, police officers from the National Fraud Investigation Unit (JHA) raided the suspects' homes in Blade 433, arrested them, conducted searches and seized relevant findings for the investigation. , Assessing Officer Tel Aviv Investigations at the Tax Authority, the Authority for the Prohibition of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing and accompanied by the Tel Aviv Tax and Economics Prosecutor's Office.
According to the findings of the investigation, the suspects created a false presentation, which they presented to investors, regarding innovative and groundbreaking technology ("Mishnat Olam" - as they say), which is in advanced stages of development and with potential sales and large profits.
Through straw companies set up by the suspects, in Israel and abroad, they transferred the investors' money to various bank accounts, laundered them and used them for their personal needs.
During the investigation, alleged evidence was gathered for the commission of money laundering offenses, tax offenses of receiving anything fraudulently under aggravated circumstances, false registration in corporation documents, offenses under VAT law, offenses under insolvency law and obstruction of investigation proceedings.
In accordance with the needs of the investigation, the suspects will be brought to the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion for a hearing to extend their detention.
