The Directorate of Education in Homs Governorate was able to possess a pioneering experience in the field of kindergartens affiliated with the project (Get ready to go to school) in terms of the number of class classes distributed to the governorate’s schools, the methods of interactive education, and the remarkable turnout for them.

Kindergarten coordinator in the Directorate of Education in Homs and trainer at the Regional Center for Childhood Development, Dr. Malik Al-Sibai, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the project launched by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Regional Center for Early Childhood Development and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in 2017 aims to increase opportunities to enroll in kindergartens The third category and ensuring that children at the age of five years have the skills necessary to move easily to the first grade of formal education because of its importance in ensuring the provision of quality, equitable and inclusive education.

Al-Sibai pointed to the importance of the kindergarten stage, as it is the necessary stage in which all children must engage at an early age, so that it is for them the basic stage to move forward with confidence and strength towards the later stages of education.

Al-Sibai indicated that with the new transformation that has taken place in the basic education curricula, which is trying to move away from indoctrination, the importance of seriously considering the issue of enrolling children in the kindergarten stage to develop their readiness for learning and prepare them to enter the basic education stage with ease and ease, noting that based on the importance of this age stage for the child The Directorate of Education seeks to continuously supervise kindergartens in Homs of all kinds, public and private, and affiliated under the (Get ready to go to school) project.

Al-Sibai stated that Homs governorate is one of the governorates that has a pioneering experience in the project “Get ready for school,” through which kindergarten educators are trained in a practical way on the foundations and principles of organizing the learning environment to provide children with the educational experiences found in the curricula and achieve the cognitive and emotional growth of the child, indicating that it is found in Homs 67 classrooms are included under this project, distributed among the first cycle schools in the governorate, 237 private kindergartens, and 22 kindergartens affiliated with the Directorate of Education.

Head of the Special Education Department in the Directorate of Education Bassam Dergham indicated that the department carries out rounds throughout the school year to all kindergartens to verify compliance with the conditions regulating their work, and to verify complaints about some of them, pointing out that during the current school year 15 kindergartens were closed Unlicensed, in addition to imposing violations against kindergartens that violate the opening conditions.
