After the heat comes the cooling: After a hot weekend, the German weather service is now reporting rain in large parts of Germany.
There may be some strong thunderstorms.
Offenbach - Sunday (June 19) was the warmest day of the year.
According to the German Weather Service (DWD), up to 39.2 degrees were measured in Cottbus (Brandenburg) and Dresden-Strehlen (Saxony).
After the hot weather in Germany, the weather is now cooling: because now the DWD has announced thunderstorms.
Weather in Germany: Thunderstorms after a hot weekend
After the heat, the week on the last day of the calendar spring starts with rain in large parts of Germany.
The German weather service announced early Monday morning that showers and sometimes heavy thunderstorms were to be expected in the central parts of the country well into the morning.
In the south and southeast it will remain mostly dry for the time being.
In the course of the day there will also be individual showers in the north and east.
In the afternoon, individual, sometimes strong thunderstorms can also be expected in the south, which will move towards the Alps in the evening.
It should be 17 to 24 degrees in the northern half, 27 to 33 degrees in the very south.
On the night of Tuesday there will be individual showers or thunderstorms in the north-east and in the very south, which will then subside quickly.
It's getting colder, the lows are between seven and ten degrees.

After a maximum of 37 degrees at the weekend, Bavaria can look forward to a little cooling off.
At the start of the week, the temperatures should be between 25 and 31 degrees, as the German weather service predicted on Monday.
The cooler temperatures will be accompanied by isolated thunderstorms.
This can lead to heavy rain, hail and gusts of wind around 80 kilometers per hour.
According to the DWD, there is still a high risk of forest fires in northern Bavaria.
After a weekend with temperatures well over 30 degrees, there should also be a few showers and thunderstorms in Baden-Württemberg this week.
Temperatures are expected to be between 25 and 29 degrees in the coming week.
As in Bavaria, the DWD in Baden-Württemberg warns of possible hail, heavy rain and gusts of wind around 80 kilometers per hour.
It's also getting noticeably cooler in the rest of Germany, and some of the rain was eagerly awaited.
On Monday, heavy rain in the fight against two large forest fires in Brandenburg provided significant relief.
There are still some fire and embers, but people can go back to their homes.
