Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that the United Nations data refutes his accusation

Moscow-Sana

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that the United Nations data refutes the West's accusations against Russia of causing a rise in global grain prices.

And the website of Russia Today channel quoted Zakharova as saying in a statement today that "according to the data figures published on the website of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), there will be a surplus of grain in the world despite accusations from Western countries that the volume of grain in the market has decreased because of Russia."

Zakharova added, “Representatives of the West in all organizations, including the United Nations, accuse us that due to Russia’s actions, the level of grain in the markets has decreased. In fact, it turned out exactly the opposite, as the amount of grain on the market is greater than in previous years, and the volume of trade is increasing,” she said. The rise in grain prices is not due to Russia’s actions, but for other reasons, which is a separate issue.”

Regarding the issue of a possible famine in the world, Zakharova said, "Experts are increasingly inclined to a pessimistic scenario and believe that many peoples will suffer and even become poorer, and the blame should be placed on Western regimes that play the role of instigators and destroyers."
