A parked pedestrian zone in Schwabing heats up Twitter tempers.
The Munich police also spoke up in the debate – and announced the consequences.
Munich – I've driven around the Karree three times and there's still no gap: If you're looking for a parking space in Munich, you need strong nerves.
But just because the thread of patience is about to break, the car shouldn't just be parked somehow.
In Schwabing, some motorists seem to have a different opinion.
On Monday (June 20) they parked an entire pedestrian zone.
Wrong parkers in Munich heat up a Twitter discussion – the police also speak up
"A symbolic image of the audacity," says not only a Twitter user who posted a photo of the illegal parker.
The picture shows how nearly twenty cars are parked left and right in the pedestrian area.
"How did it actually come to this in Schwabing and elsewhere?" She asks in the tweet, addressing the Munich police directly.
"I wouldn't dare to do that."
Twitter users agree with her.
Dozens get angry in the comments about the impudence of the motorists - and ask themselves how such parking behavior can be possible at all.
"Why isn't there just a bollard?" Many users wonder.
Some commenters seem to know their stuff.
They say it doesn't make sense to plaster the whole city with bollards.
"The signs must be sufficient" and "towing is more sustainable", so the arguments.

Again and again the question arises: why are vehicles that are parked incorrectly in this way not towed away?
The Munich police speak up.
"In addition to warnings, towing was also carried out," they commented on the heated debate.
And the officials report: “We know the location and also caused several operations at the weekend.
Discussions with the city will follow in this regard.”
A report by the Munich police also shows that illegal parking can have serious consequences that go far beyond a fine: In an emergency, reckless drivers can even endanger the lives of others
