The details suggest a horror accident, but the collision between three trucks and a bus ended lightly for those involved.

Luhe-Wildenau – There were probably several guardian angels at work: In an accident on the A93 in the Upper Palatinate on Tuesday, June 21, several people could have died – with a lot of luck, however, everyone involved escaped unharmed.

And that despite an accident involving three trucks and a bus, at high speed and with a tire shooting through the air.

Two walkers were less fortunate when they went for a walk – they were struck by lightning.

Great luck in a violent accident in the Upper Palatinate: those involved escape unscathed

The accident began when a truck driver who was on his way in the direction of Hof, near Luhe-Wildenau, leaned forward while driving to reach for a water bottle.

In the process, his truck got onto the hard shoulder – where, however, a broken truck had already come to a standstill.

The moving truck struck the stationary one and a tire was ejected from the collision.

The wheel that had been torn off flew into the oncoming lane, where a fully occupied bus could no longer avoid it.

Meanwhile, another truck crashed into the truck that had previously caused the accident.

Miraculously, none of those involved in the accident were injured.

"At the speeds on the freeways, those involved were very lucky that the accident was minor, there could have been fatalities," said a police spokesman.

Almost horror accident in the Upper Palatinate: High property damage

The occupants of the bus were able to leave the motorway on foot.

Overall, damage to property amounted to 120,000 euros, and the motorway had to be completely closed at times.

The accident site was several hundred meters long.

There will probably be a few more thank you candles lit in the evening.
