"Given by the Lord and written down" - this is how Barbara Lindner describes the "Isarwinkl Mass" that she composed.

It is now available as a sheet music book.

Lenggries/Gaißach – folk music lovers have been waiting for this for a long time.

Barbara Lindner's "Isarwinkler Messe" has now been published as a music book and is available immediately.

The "Bairisch Alpenländische Volksmusikverein" under the leadership of Roman Messerer and Manfred Wörle has published the work.

"Isarwinkler Messe": Songs should help to feel the presence of Jesus

Barbara Lindner had composed this mass over the course of six years in the spirit of the "German Farmers' Mass" - with the following intention: "My songs should help to strengthen our devotion during the mass and the presence of Jesus at the Holy Consecration and Communion feel and believe in it.”

Mass first performed at the Requiem for Barbara Lindner

The "Isarwinkler Messe" was performed for the first time in a large cast with the Ertl and Sagschneider sisters at the requiem for Barbara Lindner in the Lenggries parish church of St. Jakob - musically accompanied by the relatives of the deceased.

Lindner died in October last year at the age of 75 as a result of severe cancer.

Barbara Lindner sang as a young girl

Barbara Lindner sang from a young age.

"She had incredibly good hearing and 100 percent voice security," says her sister Josefa Bauer.

"She kept making me sing too." The two sisters, together with Inge Bergmayr from Gaißach, formed the "Lenggrieser Singers".

The Dreigesang performed at countless events for almost 20 years.

Lindner's legacy is now accessible to everyone

Josefa Bauer is pleased that her sister's legacy is now accessible to everyone.

"Some of the songs were written to improve understanding for children and relatives at wedding fairs and for lonely hikes and walks in the Isarwinkl mountains," wrote Lindner in her notes on the creation of the work.

Spreading folk music and faith is a major concern of Lindner

The starting point was therefore always the text, the melody was composed for it and should be easy to sing.

"This quote shows that the spread of folk music and faith was very important to her throughout her life," writes the Rosenheim town pastor Andreas Maria Zach in the foreword of the music book.

The pastor knows Lindner from his time as a chaplain in Lenggries (1985 to 1988), during which he celebrated many sonorous masses with her and other folk music groups.

When it came to folk music, she had all generations in mind.

But because many songs are not suitable for children, she began to compose herself.

This is how the "Isarwinkler Messe" came into being.

Release promised during lifetime

It was a particular joy and honor for her that the Bavarian Alpine Folk Music Association promised her a release while she was still alive.

The "Isarwinkler Messe" consists of six songs: Kyrie, Gloria, Gift Preparation, Sanctus, Agnus Dei and Communion.

The sheet music is illustrated with devotional pictures and engravings for the respective parts of the service as well as with pictures reminiscent of Barbara Lindner.

She herself described her mass with this quatrain: "Given by the Lord God, when praying 'close, when poetry gsunga, when singa written down."
