The anthem, with the participation of the Mawlawiya Ensemble, will have a musical evening in which the maqams of Arab music alternate in harmony with the human voice and the framework of the tarab melody on the opera stage at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts.

The evening, which was performed by Muhammad al-Shaar, Mustafa al-Sheikh, Mahmoud al-Sayyad and Ghassan al-Srouji, was titled “Qad, Dawr, and Taqtoqa” in a symbolic allusion to the molds of Arab singing, which distinguished it from other Western civilizations by formulating molds, each with its own shape and way of presenting it, including cod, dawr, taqtuqa, muwashshah, Tawsheh, and monologue.

In the evening, he presented a group of ancient Sufi muwashshahs and chants within a Damascene scene on different musical shrines. A compass opened on the Kurdish shrine, “Oh God of the universe, oh Lord, oh yes, the agent.” It was followed by a link on the shrine of the Hijaz, “They walked to Mecca and my heart is wretched, and the visitor of the kindergarten, you yearn.”

The links continued on the shrines of Rast, Nawa Athr, Bayat and Ajam, such as Sufi remembrances that depend on poetry, Aleppo poems, Burdah, poems of the Prophet’s birthday and some of the azjal and local poetry of a religious nature in harmony with distinctive rhythms.

It is noteworthy that the Damascus Quartet for Anthem was founded in 2014 through the joining of four heads of teams from different artistic backgrounds who merged into one group with the selection of the best elements of the choir from the previous bands with the aim of achieving excellence and its concerts are dominated by the character of reviving the authentic religious lyrical heritage with the aim of preserving and presenting it in a superior manner. The band has participated in many traditional and religious artistic evenings in Syria.
