The SV Eintracht Berglern had nice holidays on the occasion of its 60th birthday.
Chairman Franz Knittler was one thing above all on Monday: grateful.
"The helpers in this club are simply gigantic!"
Berglern – The helpers' festival that will still exist will not be very small, as there are around 70 volunteers who have been on duty over the festival week.
Knittler: "There were also a lot of very young people who are now growing into it." The festive Sunday, the formal highlight, was celebrated with a service.
“We actually wanted to keep the church on the square in front of the Stockhalle.
But we couldn't do that because of the weather.
People would have fallen over us in rows,” said Knittler.
So they moved to the beer garden - under the trees.
The stage was already there, so the altar was set up there without further ado.
Knittler thanked the flag delegations of the clubs: "It was a wonderful picture." And he also paid tribute to what the flag bearers did: "It was extremely exhausting in the weather, because they were also wearing uniforms." Pastor Gregor Bartkowski appropriately held one athletic devotion.
He focused on fair and careful dealings with one another in sport, but also on cohesion within the club itself.
According to the chairman, attendance at the celebrations was consistently “good to very good”.
Of course, the club also had to pay tribute to the extremely hot weather.
"Five degrees less and it would have been really crowded." But even so, it was "nice business".
Despite the heat, there were no hotheads, which was also important for Knittler: "It was a very peaceful festival." And there he was again with the volunteers: "We have enough people who look after it and can settle things well."
