A rather unusual vehicle conversion is currently for sale in Great Britain: a first-generation Mercedes CLK in hot-rod style.
Willenhall (Great Britain) – Opinions are divided on the subject of tuning or vehicle conversion: while some would never change anything in the original condition of their car, for others the modification cannot be wild enough.
For example, a hobbyist transformed an Audi R8 Spyder into a Ferrari LaFerrari and a Toyota Supra mutated into a Lamborghini Reventón replica.
Whether you like something like that is simply a question of taste - like this BMW 7 Series with Lancia taillights.
A curious vehicle is currently for sale in Great Britain: a "Hot Rod" based on Mercedes.

Adventurous conversion: Mercedes CLK 320 becomes a "Hot Rod"
The vehicle is offered on eBay in Great Britain.
And you have to look a little closer at the photos to see what it is actually about.
Especially from the rear it is hardly recognizable that the basis is a Mercedes CLK.
On the side, the "Hot Rod" fenders give the Stuttgarter a very "extravagant" touch - the gigantic grille is no less remarkable.
The CLK should retain the typical four-eyed face of the first generation – at the rear, on the other hand, the Mercedes now has rectangular lights.
According to the description, a Mercedes CLK 320 (first generation, type 208), built in 1999, was converted here.
Strictly speaking, the Mercedes is of course not a real hot rod, because hot rods are actually based on vehicles that were built between 1920 and 1940 - for example a Ford Model T.

Mercedes CLK 320 becomes a "Hot Rod" - "unique vehicle"
As extreme as the changes to the exterior are, the interior has been modified so little - judging by the photos, not at all.
In contrast to the rest, the rather staid Mercedes interior makes the already very curious conversion seem a bit slanted.
The seller praises the vehicle as a "one-of-a-kind vehicle" that is ideal for shows and events.
The Mercedes is roadworthy, the engine (3.2-liter V6) and transmission are in “very good” condition.
The reduced trunk of this "Hot Rod" Mercedes CLK no longer swallows large pieces of luggage.

The vehicle with four previous owners and a mileage of 120,000 miles (around 193,000 kilometers) is relatively cheap: the seller wants it for 2,950 British pounds (equivalent to around 3,430 euros, as of June 2022).
Attention is guaranteed with the CLK hot rod - the only question is how the reactions of the spectators turn out.
