Rabbi Chaim Meir Druckman (89), one of the spiritual leaders of religious Zionism and winner of the Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement, was released today (Tuesday) from Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, feeling well, after successfully undergoing cardiac catheterization on Tuesday.
Rabbi Druckman suffered from heart failure, following which his doctors at Hadassah recommended that he undergo a catheterization procedure.
Upon his release, Rabbi Druckman said: "I thank the staff at Hadassah Ein Kerem, who treated me exceptionally, kindly and professionally and gave a complete sense of security."
Rabbi Druckman is considered one of the greatest disciples of Rabbi Zvi Yehuda Kook.
In 1976, he established the Or Etzion High Yeshiva near the high school yeshiva and heads it to this day.

Rabbi Druckman also served as a Knesset member in Knessets 11-9 and in the 15th Knesset as a Knesset member on behalf of the NRP. He also served as Deputy Minister of Religions in the second Begin government.
Even after his retirement from political life, he was one of the policy makers in the NRP party. Prime Minister Bennett, when he was chairman of the Jewish House, also consulted with him extensively.
After Lieberman resigned as defense minister at the end of 2018, Bennett issued an ultimatum to then-Prime Minister Netanyahu demanding that the defense portfolio be met.
In the opinion of many, the neutering of the political capacity in the hands of the rabbis caused Bennett to form the new right-wing party in the next election, "which did not pass the blocking percentage, and thus began the political spin.
