The cable bridge of CLP Power Co., Ltd. (CLP) in Long Ping, Yuen Long suddenly caught fire at 7:00 pm yesterday (21st), causing major power outages in Yuen Long, Tin Shui Wai and Tuen Mun.
Local areas in Tin Shui Wai are still without power. After contacting the Education Bureau, we learned that some schools cannot operate as usual today (June 22) and need to temporarily suspend classes.
The schools concerned will arrange manpower to take care of students who may return to the school.
The Education Bureau also recommends that schools in the district be flexible in handling the lateness or absence of individual students due to the incident.
The Education Bureau will closely monitor the situation and liaise with other government departments to provide appropriate assistance to the affected schools.
