The blockades were announced, the police prepared.

However, Berlin has many motorway exits, so from their point of view the demonstrators were successful.

Annoyed drivers found that less funny.

The climate protectors are still keeping an eye on the next few days.

Berlin – Climate protection demonstrators again blocked numerous exits from the A100 city motorway on Tuesday morning in Berlin.

According to the police and the traffic information center, about ten exits and streets were affected, especially in the west and south of the city.

According to the police, groups of around seven to ten men and women blocked the exits.

Some of them stuck to the street, so the blockades lasted longer.

There were traffic jams on the freeway during rush hour.

180 police officers were on duty.

Only on Monday were there short-term blockages in many places and similar actions are planned for the next few days.

The demonstrators from the group "Last Generation" called for "save oil instead of drilling" and "North Sea oil - nope" on banners.

Police directed cars across the sidewalk.

As in January and February with the first series of blockades, aggressive and problematic incidents apparently occurred again on Monday and Tuesday.

The Last Generation posted a video on Tuesday showing a motorist slowly pushing a protester away with his car.

The woman first walks backwards and then lies down on the hood of the car.

The driver calls out that he has an appointment, the demonstrator shouts back.

It was not clear how the situation would turn out.

Photos of blockers being pushed away or sprayed with water were posted online on Monday.

This week's blockades had been announced and are to take place every morning.

The initiative had campaigned nationwide for supporters from the environmental protection movement and announced more participants than before.

"We are the last generation that can still prevent climate collapse," said the initiative.

She demands a declaration from Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) that no new infrastructure will be built to use fossil fuels.

Daily interruptions to road traffic in Berlin are planned - until Scholz credibly declares that there will be no oil drilling in the North Sea.

On Monday, the police temporarily arrested 75 demonstrators.

That affected 51 men and 24 women, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.

21 demonstrators stuck to the streets.

28 criminal proceedings were initiated, mainly for coercion and resistance to the police.

In addition, eleven investigations into administrative offenses.

The blockers were all released again.

The demonstrators had blocked highway exits and roads in twelve places on Monday morning.

The police prevented blockages in four other places, the spokesman said.

The Berlin CDU criticized: "The road blockades of the last few days have obstructed traffic, endangered human lives and additionally burdened the climate with unnecessary traffic jams.

SPD interior senator Iris Spranger must finally take action and implement what she has been saying for a long time: address those who are at risk and, if necessary, prevent them from further traffic hazards by means of preventive detention.” It must be ensured that roads and access roads are kept clear so that rescue workers can be deployed in emergencies not to hinder.

The police union (GdP) complained that the everyday life of hundreds of thousands of people was massively hampered by the demonstrators.

"Perhaps it would also be advisable for them to be sanctioned accordingly by the judiciary, for our colleagues not to work for the wastepaper basket and for blockers not to leave the capital after such a guerrilla action as if nothing had happened."
