Bad Tölz: City cycling and family rally for the climate and families

City cycling is a competition in which the aim is to cover as many everyday routes as possible by bike in a climate-friendly manner over a period of 21 days.

Bad Tölz – The district town and region is getting back in the saddle: first with the Mayor's Cycle Tour, the city cycle and this year for the first time with a family cycle rally organized by the Tölz Youth Promotion.

As in the previous year, Mayor Ingo Mehner invites you to the annual mayor's bike tour just in time for the start of the district-wide city cycling campaign.

The motto of the event this time is "Energy and Sustainability".

The meeting point is on Friday, June 24th at 5 p.m. at the viewing platform in the Bürgergarten.

You cycle at a leisurely pace past the Jahnschulareal and the Klammerweiher pond to the Isar power plant to learn more about local heating supply, e-mobility, sewage sludge drying and regenerative energy on the way.

In addition to the mayor, Walter Huber, managing director of the Tölzer Stadtwerke, is also there and will answer questions.

All interested parties are invited, registration is not required.

Will Tölz collect the most kilometers again?

In addition, from June 25th to July 15th, all Tölz residents are called upon to pedal again for the climate.

Since the district town has supported the campaign, it has been the most successful municipality in the district and has been able to record the most kilometers cycled for itself.

"We hope for a lively participation again this year," emphasizes Mehner.

"It doesn't matter why someone cycles - whether for the climate because they save car kilometers, whether for health or just for fun.

In addition to the city bike ride and the Mayor's Bike Tour, there will be a family bike rally organized by the Tölz Youth Promotion on Saturday, July 2 this year.

The meeting point is at the Tölzer youth café at Hindenburgstraße 32. It starts at 1 p.m. in small groups, the destination is the community center on Flinthöhe.

In between, Tölz clubs set entertaining tasks at various stands, which have to be mastered as a team.

Those who have completed all stations by 6 p.m. will be entered into a draw.

Participation in the bike rally is free of charge.
