Germany: Chaos at airports - employee reports on working conditions
An airport employee who wishes to remain anonymous revealed to rtl.de
how
bad the working conditions at airports in Germany are for many at the moment.
"I would describe the conditions as unbearable and as an impertinence," she said in an interview.
The reason for this is standing times of up to six hours without a break to eat or anything else.
In addition, employees who are currently working part-time are apparently not even allowed to switch to full-time.
"Of course, during the period of short-time work, the company got the taste that it could work with fewer staff," the woman continued in the conversation and explained that the staff was therefore deliberately understaffed.
According to
rtl.de
, there would also be the prospect of a minimum wage and ten-hour shifts, so some jobs are not necessarily coveted.

The consequences would not only be felt by the employees due to the hard working hours, but of course also the travelers.
Delayed or canceled flights are currently the consequences, in Düsseldorf alone several flights were canceled on Sunday.
Meanwhile, a flight to Mallorca has turned into an absolute nightmare, as one passenger reported.

With long queues at security and baggage counters, there is also the threat of being late for your flight.
A lawyer told the broadcaster that passengers have a claim against the airline in principle.
But there are a few things to consider.
"If you already notice in the queue that it's getting tight, be sure to report it, definitely push ahead," he advises.
Otherwise you lose this right later.
In addition, passengers should observe other instructions.
