The stamp friends Hausham-Bad Tölz invite you to an exhibition and the big exchange day this weekend in the small Kursaal.

Bad Tölz

– On Saturday, June 25, the Hausham-Bad Tölz philatelic stamp friends invite you to the large stamp exchange day in the Small Kursaal Bad Tölz, Vichyplatz 1 Hand in the special stamp "Discovery 175 years ago: Germany's strongest iodine sources" on site.

Members of the association show the visitors interesting parts of the collection in an advertising show on the topic "Fascination of local collections".

With the special stamp and the special card, the association would like to commemorate the long history of the "Tölzer Kur".

As can be seen from the message from the stamp friends, 175 years ago Kaspar Riesch, farmhand at the "Jaudbauern" on the Sauersberg west of Bad Tölz, discovered Germany's strongest iodine springs.

When the passionate hunter Riesch carried a bottle of cloudy spring water to a Tölz doctor, it was not foreseeable that he would change the history of Tölz with it.

Although strictly speaking in the Wackersberg area, these springs later made Bad Tölz a well-known health resort.

Special card with stamp for "150 Years Tölzer Leonhardifahrt"

On the western bank of the Isar, where in 1850 only meadows and fields stretched between the Franciscan monastery and the customs house, a new district with villas, hotels and spa facilities quickly grew.

On June 20, 1899, Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria awarded Tölz the title "Bad".

The special card designed by the association to match the special stamp is franked with the stamp “150 years of Tölzer Leonhardifahrt”.

A current 70 cent commemorative stamp is pasted on genuine running cards.

This card can also be seen on the club's homepage at www.briefmarkenfreunde-badtoelz-hausham.de along with many older club documents (including several stamps on the subject of "Tölzer Leonhardifahrt").

The Big Exchange Day

begins Saturday, June 25 at 9 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.

Admission is free.

Because of Corona, the last event took place three years ago.

The stamp friends are therefore all the more looking forward to many visitors.
