Fatal accident on the main road: tractor driver crushed by his own vehicle

One person died in an accident on federal highway 12 near Hohenlinden (Ebersberg district).

– On Tuesday afternoon, June 21, one person died in a serious frontal accident on federal highway 12 near Hohenlinden.
According to the police, it is an 83-year-old who was traveling there with his tractor.
According to this, an 88-year-old with his silver-colored VW small car got into the left lane of the B12 for reasons that have not yet been clarified when he was driving near Birkach in the direction of Hohenlinden.
At that moment, the tractor came toward him.
The vehicles collided head-on around 1 p.m., although the tractor driver apparently still tried to avoid it.

Car is just scrap - tractor falls down embankment
The front of the car was completely destroyed by the force of the impact.
The tractor lurched down an embankment and overturned in the ditch.
According to the police, he buried the driver under himself.
Attempts at resuscitation by the numerous alerted helpers on site were unsuccessful, the injuries were too serious.
The senior died at the scene of the accident.
The state of health of the car driver is currently not known other than that he was taken to the hospital by the ambulance, according to the police.
The police, rescue service and members of the Hohenlinden volunteer fire brigade were deployed.
A rescue helicopter had also landed.
The main road had to be completely closed for the rescue work and the accident recording.
An expert was called to the scene of the accident to clarify the cause of the accident.
The investigations are ongoing.
