Huge mounds, several meters high, stretch as far as the eye can see at the entrance to the Englobe company site, in the small village of Écharcon.
This Canadian company has four polluted soil treatment sites in France, including two in Île-de-France, Bruyères-sur-Oise (Val-d'Oise) and Essonne.
It was the latter that opened first, in 1996.
