The consultations had already started on Monday with a meeting of the health ministers of the G20 countries.

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, also attended the gathering.

He warned in clear words against considering the corona pandemic over.

The WHO chief said: "The perception that the pandemic is over is misplaced," adding that there are concerns that "a lack of corona testing and sequencing is blinding us to the development of the virus."
