Two Häagen-Dazs ice creams imported from France have been found to have pesticide residues in Taiwan.
The Centre for Food Safety said today (21st) that the batch of ice cream in question was also imported into Hong Kong, and it has instructed the importer to remove the affected batch of products from the shelves and suspend sales, and initiate recall.
The CFS urges the public to stop consuming the affected batches of products if they buy them.
The trade should immediately stop using or selling the product in question if it is in possession of the batch.
The Center for Food Safety stated that it is actively following up on the detection of two Häagen-Dazs ice creams in Taiwan that contain the pesticide ethylene oxide, which is banned in the European Union. It has immediately contacted local importers and retailers to follow up. A preliminary investigation found that the affected Batches of ice cream have also been imported into Hong Kong. They are Häagen-Dazs Vanilla Ice Cream Home Pack and Vanilla Ice Cream Barrel. The details of the batches involved are as follows:

The Center for Food Safety stated that since ethylene oxide has been banned by the European Union, for the sake of prudence, the importer has taken the affected batches off the shelves and stopped the sale of the affected batches as instructed by the Center, and started recalling them.

The CFS urges the public to stop consuming the affected batches of products if they buy them.
