Young man with Down syndrome, Hani Mohamed, defied his disability with strong determination and will, and took a path in which he developed his potential energy and translated it into the world of weightlifting, carrying many sparkling medals.
Hani, 25, is characterized by a challenge despite the disability that has plagued him since childhood, according to his mother, Nazmiya Ismail, adding that he joined the Kamal Sports Club in Tartous and continued his career to score eight gold, two silver and bronze medals over two years in the Special Olympics.
Ismail said: We made a great effort to help Hani integrate into society and enjoy his life like the rest of his peers, which helped in the emergence of other hobbies and tendencies for him to get the Golden Cup in the football game, in addition to several financial prizes and a certificate of appreciation that he received in the drawing competition.
For her part, coach Ramia Hammoud confirmed that Hani enjoys strong determination during training like any other player, and his great response to her had a positive impact on his technical level, which was translated by winning many medals in the tournaments in which he participated.
Coach Hammoud is counting on her player Hani to achieve more distinguished results and win more medals and achievements, wishing him to achieve his sporting ambitions by participating in international competitions.
